FLORENCE COUNTY -- The Florence County Fair has been a tradition for more than a century, and now officials say it is back and better than ever.
The fair features new carnival rides, a beer fun run, the Sunday horse pull, live music and cricket spitting...which is exactly what it sounds like.
Organizers are hoping to draw more than 5,000 people for the weekend. Given the mix of new and old activities, the event has been titled the Fair to Remember.
"I'm very excited for it to get here," said Florence County Fair Director Jessica Klumpp. "We're doing some different things with exhibits this year. It's the same old stuff, but it's different and it's new and we're trying to make it that way. Still, your family friendly fair, but with much more new and exciting things."
The fair runs Friday, August 26 through August 28 at the Florence County Fairgrounds (5465 County Highway N).
