MARQUETTE COUNTY -- Two men arrived safely to their destination on Wednesday morning after being reported missing. They got separated from their wives on Tuesday during a kayak trip on the Escanaba River.

Steve Foulks and Waldo Stevick, both 64 years old, were kayaking from Iron Pin Trail in Gwinn to a campground near Swimming Hole Creek in Ewing Township.

They got separated around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and the two women arrived at their destination around 10 p.m.  The Marquette County Sheriff's Department was notified of the missing men around midnight.

Marquette County Search and Rescue used kayaks to search the river, but around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, both Foulks and Stevick arrived at their destination.  They spent the night in their kayaks, then continued to head towards their destination.

Both men were in good health.

Helicopter support arrived just as the two men were located.
