There will be parking restrictions in certain areas over the next few weeks
MARQUETTE -- For anyone accustomed to parking in the Bluff Street parking structure in Marquette, you'll need to find somewhere else to go for the next few weeks.
Repairs on the structure start Monday. During Phase One, they'll work on the east side of both the upper and lower levels, constricting all parking to the west side of the structure. After that, they'll target the west side for Phase Two, meaning that you'll only be able to park on the east end then.
If you're unable to find space to park in the structure, you're allowed to park in any of the downtown public lots or metered spaces on West Main Street.
The estimated completion date for the project is October 31 of this year.
And parking will also be limited in Marquette this week due to sanitary sewer cleaning. Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, parking on the following streets will be prohibited since traffic will be using the parking lanes.
Parking will not be allowed for four hours before the work starts Monday and Tuesday on Washington Street from Third Street to Lakeshore Boulevard and Front Street from Washington Street to Arch Street.
Wednesday and Thursday, Third Street from the Jackson Cut Alley to Arch Street and Fourth Street from Washington Street to Arch Street.
