There was a large electrical fault at the substation on Powder Mill Rd.

MARQUETTE -- A squirrel is blamed for a power outage in Marquette Monday evening.

According to the Marquette Board of Light and Power, a squirrel caused a large electrical fault at the substation on Powder Mill Road.

Power was knocked out for about an hour.  The BLP estimates nearly 2,000 customers lost electricity.
