ROCK -- The Mid Peninsula School in Rock has been undergoing two million dollars worth of renovations that were finally completed June 30.
The K through 12 school received the improvements through a district-passed bond two years ago. Some of the improvements include two new school buses, new camera security systems on the doors, and a full remodeling of boys and girls locker rooms.
And the teachers now have SmartBoards. They were able to choose furniture for their classrooms as well.
"The school really is the heart of the community, and so it impacts the students, not only in education, but throughout the course of their entire day and their lives and their parents as well," said Mid Peninsula Principal/Superintendent, Mary Brayak.
A grand reopening and ribbon-cutting event will be held August 10 at 6 p.m. There will be student-guided tours that'll show off the newly improved school.
