MARQUETTE -- The moose that has been roaming Presque Isle Park in Marquette for the better part of two weeks has a new home.

According to a DNR spokesperson, the young bull moose has been tranquilized and moved to an undisclosed location.

The procedure took place early Friday morning while it was cool enough, not to endanger the moose.

DNR officials have been observing the moose over the past week and noticed that the moose is very thin and appears to be sick.  The possible illness may be liver flukes.

We will have more on this story as more information becomes available.
