House fire under investigation

ESCANABA -- A house fire early Wednesday morning in Escanaba remains under investigation.

According to Escanaba Public Safety, they were called out at 4:04 a.m. Wednesday to 821 North Lincoln Road.  When they arrived, firefighters could see smoke coming out of a vent above the main entrance of the home.

After gaining entrance to the building, they found the fire in the ceiling of the kitchen area.

The blaze was quickly brought under control.  Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours.
 
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
