MARQUETTE -- We're already starting to see the ads for back to school, so we know that another year is close, and right now, Select Realty in Marquette is holding a school supply donation.  All of the items collected will be split between the Salvation Army locations in Marquette and Ishpeming.

Officials at the Salvation Army say school supplies are needed for all ages.  Backpacks are what's most in demand.

Select Realty has held this school supply donation drive in the past.

"We, being a local company, we like to help the community as much as possible," said Select Realty co-owner, Karen Nygard.  "It's a community that helps us stay in business, so we like to give back.  We just had an idea that a few years ago that we had done that, especially at school time, and each year the need to gets more and more."

The deadline is August 15 for dropping items off at the Select Realty offices in Marquette.  Those offices are located on Ridge Street, right next to Jilbert's Dairy.
