Thousands of people attended Art on the Rocks Saturday in Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette
MARQUETTE -- The Art on the Rocks Show started in 1958 and is one of the oldest art shows in Marquette.
Artists from all across the country come to show off and sell their pottery, woodwork, paintings, and jewelry.
"This show is big for the city of Marquette because not only does it bring so many artists into town that will spend three nights and eat out every night, but you also bring in visitors who want to shop at the show from Escanaba and Munising," says LSAA President Jack Deo. "This is probably the biggest weekend in downtown Marquette all summer long."
New artists are selected to be a part of the show every year. And there's quite the variety with 20 to 30 artists in each different medium of art.
The show's last day is Sunday when they'll be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
