IRON MOUNTAIN -- To help fund a major renovation of the City Park, Iron Mountain is asking for your help.
This weekend the city is hosting the first annual Saturday in the Park event. The day will feature live music with food, drinks, and games for all ages.
In December, Iron Mountain received a $500,000 from the Department of Natural Resources to revitalize City Park.
The city is responsible for raising 25 percent and is already at more than $100,000.
Now officials are asking for help to get over the edge.
"This has been a beautiful asset to our community and by renovating our city park, which is long overdue, it's going to become a jewel of our community," said Iron Mountain Mayor Bruce Rosen. "It's going to be so gorgeous when we complete it."
The event runs Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. CT at City Park in Iron Mountain.
