MARQUETTE -- The 33rd annual Hiawatha Music Festival wrapped up Sunday, and organizers are saying it was a success.

While exact figures, such as registrations and ticket sales, aren't in yet, organizers are saying the festival was comparable to recent years.

While the festival went off with only a few minor setbacks, organizers say they couldn't do it without the hundreds of volunteers that help out each year.  They say they continue to hold the festival every year simply because of a love for traditional folk music.

"It just is a good opportunity to let people experience this kind of music in a beautiful atmosphere," said Festival Coordinator Maggie Morgan.  "And they can sing and dance and jam and hopefully give this kind of music more exposure and keep it going for the next generation."

Next year's festival dates have already been announced for July 20 through 22.
