MUNISING -- In four-foot seas, National Park Service Rangers and Alger County Sheriff deputies rescued capsized kayaks at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Saturday.

Pictured Rocks cruises alerted authorities of the kayaks which were flipped against the cliffs west of Mosquito Beach.

At around noon, officers observed three capsized kayaks up against the 200 foot cliffs.  One kayak was still occupied, but in distress.  Assisted by deputies, rangers were able to rescue the occupant of the kayak and then tossed rescue lines to pull the other three victims aboard.

All victims, including three adult males and one adult female, suffered mild hypothermia, but are safe.  They are all from downstate.

The U.S. Coast Guard also responded from Marquette to assist in the rescue.
