MARQUETTE -- The nearly 90 degree heat didn't stop State Senator Tom Casperson from getting his hands dirty at a Habitat for Humanity site in Marquette Friday.
It's part of the legislative Build 2011 partnership between Habitat and statewide groups who work for affordable housing.
Organizers say it gives leaders a chance to actually see the projects that they could support in their legislative work.
Senator Casperson says through this new perspective, he's already got some possible ideas for the future.
"There's some ideas maybe we can come up with from our level to help them out with how they operate," said Senator Casperson. "Looking for land as an example; the potential we have from the legislative side to maybe help them and assist them in those areas."
"It demonstrates their willingness to help out low income families and the importance of the role of Habitat for Humanity plays in our communities," said Marquette County Habitat President Ken Czapski.
Marquette County Habitat for Humanity will be dedicating four new sites next month.
