ESCANABA -- A new building for Marquette General Hospital is in the planning for Escanaba.
According to MGH President and CEO Gary Muller, it would be a new medical office building, replacing their current facility at Doctors Park.
Approval for the multimillion dollar facility would need to come from the hospital's board of directors.
The proposed location for the new facility would be next door to the Bellin Health Building and directly in front of Doctors Park at 710 Lincoln Road. The hope is to break ground before winter and to have the project finished by next summer.
All employees at Doctors Park would be transferred to the new building.
Muller says there will not be any increase in jobs as a result of the new facility.
