MARINETTE COUNTY -- A fatal rollover crash occurred at 8:09 p.m. Saturday when a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Brian K. Girard went into a ditch and struck a tree in Marinette County.

The vehicle had entered a ditch and hit a culvert, rolled over and struck a tree.  Girard, of Milwaukee, was then ejected from the vehicle, according to the Marinette County Sheriff's office.

Sheriff deputies arrived at the scene of the crash on State Highway 180, where they found the vehicle in the ditch and Girard nearby.

Girard was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal injuries.  Speed and the lack of a seatbelt are believed to be factors in the crash.  Alcohol may also be a factor, but testing has not yet returned with results.

This is the fourth driving fatality in Marinette County this year.
