IRON RIVER -- With four U.P. State Police posts scheduled to close in October, plans are being made to set up detachments in those communities.

The State Police in Iron River are expected to open up a detachment in the Department of Human Services building in Caspian.  The building will be used to store equipment and will not be staffed with troopers.
    
Posts in Iron River, L'Anse, Munising, and Stephenson are scheduled to close October 1.

Troopers will still be stationed in those communities.
