ESCANABA -- It is a wait and see situation in Delta County for the case against a Gwinn woman facing drug charges.
Brenda Chase had been convicted of driving under the influence of marijuana. Chase uses the drug for medical reasons.
She was sentenced to six months probation and ordered to pay $300 in fines.
Chase appealed the ruling and had her case presented to the judge in the form of oral arguments in May of 2011. The judge has decided to hold off on a ruling on the situation until the Michigan Court of Appeals rules in a similar case already before them.
