The Rod and Gun Club hosted its first ever Sportsman's Garage Sale Saturday
NEGAUNEE TWP. -- Usually at garage sales, you can find a variety of items that anyone could use. But since this is Father's Day weekend, that meant a special garage sale for dad.
In Negaunee Township Saturday, the Rod and Gun Club held the first ever Sportsman's Garage Sale. At this sale, instead of the usual things you'd find at garage sales, club members sold unused excess items found in their garages and basements, like tools, sporting goods, and camping and fishing gear.
"It's Father's Day weekend. There's always a tradition at garage sales that guys get dragged along to," says club president Reg Lipp. "In this case, it's their garage sale and I've seen a few wives get dragged to this one."
This really was a great opportunity to find a good bargain.
Some of the proceeds went back to the seller. Otherwise, they were donated to the club to fund programs like the junior rifle program and youth day.
