American Eagle will have only one flight to Chicago starting in early July
SAWYER -- Officials say low passenger numbers and the high cost of fuel are to blame for two discontinued American Eagle flights at Sawyer International Airport.
Starting in early July, two of the three American Eagle flights from Sawyer to Chicago will no longer operate.
American Eagle will keep its non-stop flight to Chicago O'Hare, but will eliminate the other two flights that stop in Traverse City and Green Bay.
Airport manager Keith Kaspari says he hopes American will bring the other two flights back when the economy improves.
