MARQUETTE -- What's going in the empty lot next to Lowe's in Marquette Township? That was the question you wanted answered in Thursday's Facebook Story of the Day.
Two years ago, representatives of TBM Equities out of downstate Dexter near Ann Arbor, approached Marquette Township officials about the property. The real estate development company has been working with the township on ordinances, designs, and site plans.
We tried contacting TBM Equities Thursday and did not receive a response.
All township officials know at this point is that two retail establishments will be going into the building.
"It's our understanding that he does have two tenants lined up for the building off of his list of tenants," said Marquette Township Manager Randy Girard. "But he, as of yet, has not divulged the names of those tenants because they have requested that their names not be released until they release them."
TBM represents about 15 retailers, most of which are nationally known. We weren't able to find a website listing those retailers, but Girard did put one rumor to rest. TBM does not represent the Olive Garden restaurants. Many of you expressed particular interest in that on our Facebook page.
The site plan has been approved. Girard predicts that the building will begin in the not too distant future.
