LANSING -- The date for flags to be lowered to honor Specialist Robert L. Voakes, Jr. has been set as June 20, according to a release by Governor Snyder's office.

An announcement was made on Wednesday that Governor Snyder will order United States flags to be lowered to half-staff on Monday, June 20.

"This young man courageously served our country with pride and honor," said Governor Snyder.   "My thoughts and prayers are with Spec. Voakes' family at this very difficult time."

Our Facebook Story of the Day on Tuesday addressed the issue of the flag not being lowered for the funeral that was held on Monday.
