MARQUETTE -- Developers of Founder's Landing in Marquette held an open house Monday night to show the progress made so far. The open house showcased the "Ripley" building, which is the latest condo under construction.
Another condominium is scheduled to start construction in August of this year.
Construction of the Hampton Inn is well underway, although little can be seen as crews are working on the foundation.
Those involved in the development say it is an exciting time for the area.
"The project is moving along very well; we're actually ahead of schedule and we're really gearing up to have a lot to show," said project architect Barry Polzin. "There's a lot of interest in what's going on here, and this is kind of the front door of the community, so we're glad to open it up and let people see it."
The Hampton Inn is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, while a portion of the landing designated for retail shops is currently in the design phase.
