MARQUETTE -- Marquette area kids can learn some grown-up lessons at the U.P. Children's Museum this summer.
The Kid Bizness program is designed to teach kids, ages 8 to 18, about business through real, hands-on training.
The young entrepreneurs create their own products and sell them in the museum store, Sprout. They come up with their first prototypes, figure out their profit margins, and then run them by the Dragon Committee who will decide which products will go on the shelves.
"This group here this morning have already walked in with the idea of duct-taped formal wear for ties and hats. They have ideas for jewelry, for clay creations," said Jim Edwards of the U.P. Children's Museum.
The kids will also gain experience working in the store and learning about sale service.
