CALUMET -- Stormy weather didn't stop the CLK Elementary School in Calumet from holding a lesson outside the classroom Tuesday afternoon.

All of the students got to weed and help prepare plots in the school's Heritage Garden.  In addition to flowers, the classes planted herbs and vegetables to help promote healthy eating.

Teachers say the gardening is also a great way to incorporate skills learned in math and other subjects.
