MENOMINEE COUNTY -- The body of a fisherman who fell into the Menominee River last Thursday and disappeared has been recovered.  That was confirmed by the Menominee County Sheriff's Department late Thursday afternoon.

The family has been notified.

The victim was 48-year-old Mark Geib of Wallace.  He reportedly fell into the river while he was fishing behind his home.

Patrol boats and divers searched the river for several days without success.

The current can be dangerous this time of year.

The victim's body was found downstream and has been taken to a funeral home, according to authorities.
