ESCANABA -- A 26-year-old Escanaba man, convicted of multiple drug charges, was sentenced Wednesday in the Delta County Circuit Court.

Isaac Cooley was sentenced to serve a concurrent sentence of one year and eight months in prison for two charges.  The first count is possession with intent to deliver marijuana.  The second count is attempted conspiracy to possess marijuana with intent to deliver.

One charge was dismissed.

Each charge carries a maximum penalty of six years.

"I mean, financially, it was hard.  I felt like I was cornered and I had little options and I exhausted a number of my resources," said Cooley of his situation.

Cooley was sentenced as a habitual offender.
