DOLLAR BAY -- Thousands of people in the Keweenaw spent much of Wednesday without power because of the damage caused by strong winds.  The weather continued throughout the day making it a slow process for UPPCO crews trying to fix all of the downed power lines.

A large tree branch and a snapped pole on Upper Point Mills Road were responsible for an outage in Dollar Bay.  The powerful storm created choppy waves at a nearby beach and left behind still more broken branches.
