Marquette driver recovering after crash in Iowa

GRUNDY COUNTY, IA -- A Marquette man was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that went off the road and landed in a creek in Iowa.

According to a press release from the Grundy County, Iowa Sheriff's Department, the accident happened Thursday night at 6:55 p.m., on Highway 20, west of Dike.

Chad Laurich, 24, of Marquette, was driving when the truck left the road and hit a guardrail.  The truck then went airborne, struck an embankment, and landed in a creek.

Laurich, along with 31-year-old Matt Roth of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Shawn LeMere, age 35, of Cecil, Wisconsin, were all taken to the hospital.

They have been treated and released.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
