MARQUETTE -- At last report, the computers at the Secretary of State's offices throughout Michigan were still down.

The problem first occurred Wednesday.  It has also affected several other state departments.

For customers who wanted to take care of business at the Secretary of State's office, late fees will be waived.

Officials are hoping to resume computer operations Friday, but there's no guarantee.

Normally the Secretary of State offices handle about 80,000 transactions a day.
