It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday morning in Marquette, near Third and Crescent

MARQUETTE -- A Marquette man is hospitalized after being hit by a car earlier Saturday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. near the intersection of North Third and Crescent Street in Marquette.

An 18-year-old Marquette man was traveling southbound on North Third Street when he struck a 35-year-old man crossing the street near the intersection.  The man sustained injuries to his head and the right side of his body.

The victim was transported and admitted to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time, however, the accident does remain under investigation.
