IRON MOUNTAIN -- Friday, Northpointe hosted its 15th annual Educational Luncheon on Mental Illness at Pine Grove Country Club.

The event featured presentations on suicide prevention and the Wellness Recovery Action Plan, better known as WRAP.

The goal is to educate the public on what's out there, reach out to those in need, and potentially offer new techniques when treating mental illness.

"A lot of people who've had emotional difficulties, they're so used to going to a hospital and being told by a doctor or a counselor what to do, and WRAP is all about personal responsibility and keeps you in control and keeps you in charge of your own recovery," says WRAP speakers Jeanne and Bob White.

One-hundred-ten people showed up to the annual event that's partially funded through state grants.
