IRON MOUNTAIN -- Thanks to a math and science grant, students from across the southern U.P. and Northern Wisconsin got a taste of some unique experiments.
Bay College West in Iron Mountain hosted Michigan Tech's Mind Trekker team which demonstrated more than 70 experiments for students. One thousand students from Dickinson, Iron, Menominee, and Marinette counties were in attendance.
While the goal is to educate students, Bay West also used it as an opportunity to show what the campus can offer.
"This is a fairly small and new campus, and we saw it as a huge opportunity to the schools around us to show them that we're partnering with the universities, and this is a great place to get your start," said Bay Project Manager, Jill Martin.
Martin says she's hopeful the Mind Trekker program will continue coming to Bay West for years to come.
