In the past 7 years, Christine Ring has had a stroke, breast cancer, and bone marrow cancer
NEGAUNEE -- The fight against cancer is never an easy battle, and when you and your spouse have lost your jobs, it gets even tougher.
But for the Ring family of Negaunee, their community came together, gave together, and sat down and dug in together this afternoon to help their cause.
Christine Ring has already battled through a stroke and breast cancer, and in a few short weeks will undergo treatment for bone marrow cancer.
To raise money, they put on a spaghetti dinner at the Negaunee Elks Club, complete with a ticket auction and a 50/50 raffle.
The Ring family said the response has been amazing.
"The spaghetti has been really good. We've had ladies, a lot of good cooks from the Ishpeming Public Schools have been there helping us, you know, a lot of ladies from the Nets, all of my family has been helping...it's been just a wonderful support," says Becky, Scott, and Chris Ring.
Thrivent Financial is matching one dollar for every three dollars they raise.
For those who missed the spaghetti dinner and would still like to help the Ring family's fight, you can contact the Negaunee Federal Credit Union and give to the Christine Ring benefit.
