DICKINSON COUNTY -- A Kingsford man, who pled no contest to felonious assault, learned his fate Monday in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Twenty-four-year-old John Ray was sentenced to eight months in the Dickinson County Jail and one year probation.

He'll be credited with 208 days already served.

Ray was involved in a fight on Iron Mountain's east side in September 2009 that left one man seriously injured.

As part of the plea agreement reached in March, Ray could have the charge reduced to a misdemeanor if he successfully completes probation.
