PATH is all about someone taking a personal look at their own, or someone else's, health
MARQUETTE -- PATH, or Personal Action Towards Health, is a program that works to help people with chronic illnesses feel better.
The national initiative is a six-week workshop where individuals find strategies to live a healthier life. The workshops are free and open to anyone with a chronic health concern, such as stress, lupus, cancer, etc.
Kay Bammert, an award-winning PATH leader, says it's the perfect solution for those struggling in the tough economic climate.
"Many people, in this area particularly, are either uninsured or underinsured or unemployed; they just don't have the monetary resources anymore, so what's one of the things you give up taking care of and that's yourself," says Bammert.
The workshops began April 19.
