KINGSFORD -- It's a workout that's catching fire nationwide, but Saturday, Zumba will be used for more than getting in shape.
The aerobic dance class will be the feature of Zumbathon at Skate Boulevard in Kingsford. The four-hour marathon class is being held to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Seven instructors from the Dickinson County area will also be on hand to work with everyone from experienced veterans to first timers.
Organizers say it's a unique way to raise money, get into shape, and have fun all at the same time.
"It's just kind of like a good recipe or a good movie--you want to tell your friends, you got to try this." sadi Zumba Instructor, Laura Carter. "It will make you feel good, make you happy. It's not just like, come on we're going to meet and try and raise some money and do some push-ups. We're going to dance."
The Zumbathon is Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Skate Boulevard in Kingsford.
