MARQUETTE COUNTY -- It's expensive to publish a book, so a Marquette County woman took a new approach and has released her story as an e-book.

Jennifer Bennon wrote the novel Murder is a Bad Day to Have a Baby as her thesis for her Master's Degree from Northern Michigan University.  The fictional story is based largely on Bennon's mother's murder in Tilden Township in 1981.

The prologue is her non-fictional account, but the rest of the story is fictional.

"Fiction allows you to do things that you can't do in real life, so I was able to explore circumstances," said Bennon.  "I was able to explore characters, and I was able to provide the characters with a resolution that I didn't have."

Bennon's mother's murder was never officially solved.

Murder is a Bad Day to Have a Baby is available for Kindle and Nook.

The book is available for $9.99 can be found on Amazon or Barnes and Noble's website.
