MARQUETTE -- For many, after Easter service comes Easter brunch, and Bonanza Steak House's brunch may be just three years young, but it's proven to be one of Marquette's most popular.
Patrons packed the parking lot and rushed for the salad bar, where traditional mashed potatos, turkey, shrimp and a ham carving staton were main attractions.
It's clear: closing off their regular menu for the brunch special didn't hurt their numbers. Managers say crowds exceeded a thousand.
The brunch has become an Easter Sunday staple.
"I've never come here before for Easter, but I'm sure going to come again. All the different meats that were wonderful, the salads, the desserts. We never go away without having every single part of a meal here," said Ishpeming resident, Alice Johnson.
Brunch cost $14.95 for free reign of the salad bar from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
