MARQUETTE -- Marquette residents of several churches gathered at the Marquette Missionary Church to observe Good Friday.  The church held its community Good Friday service to celebrate Jesus Christ's death.

The service was attended by members of various churches including Harvey Baptist, Water's Edge and Silver Creek.

Attendees enjoyed contemporary music along with traditional hymns and special messages from the churches' pastors.

The goal of the service was to bring together the community while celebrating an important religious event.

"We all share the same purpose, the same mission--sharing the love of Jesus Christ with this community--and I think we can do that more effectively, working as a team, together as a community than we can each doing our own thing individually," said Paul Holcroft, Missionary Church Pastor.

The Good Friday service is a popular event with standing room only by the time it started.
