HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP -- An Iron Mountain man got quite a surprise when he was driving down the highway Thursday afternoon.
Mike Johnson was heading south on M-95 towards North Republic around 3 p.m. when he spotted a female moose crossing the road.
He stopped his car to take pictures when he saw a second moose and shot this video from his cell phone.
Johnson says other cars stopped around him to witness the scene and that the moose appeared to be playing it safe.
"The thing that surprised me is how careful the moose was watching the traffic," said Johnson. "And I thought this moose is being real careful not to get hit by a car. As it came down it walked right in front of the truck so I got a nice picture there."
