TILDEN TOWNSHIP -- Cliffs Natural Resources is expanding their workforce at the Empire-Tilden mine site.
They plan to add total of 100 jobs.
Its all in an effort to expand the life of the mine.
They say they need to add new equipment and therefore people to operate and maintain that equipment.
They say the positions are difficult to fill because they are looking for skilled workers in specific crafts.
"Our positions are highly sought after," said Cliffs Spokesperson Dale Hemmila. "Currently right now we have about 6,000 applications available to us. They go through a fairly rigorous testing process, interview process."
