Animal abuse case going to trial

ONTONAGON -- An animal cruelty case in Ontonagon County is going to trial.

James Griffin, 63, will have his trial July 6 through 8.

He is charged with cruelty to animals, involving 10 or more animals.

Griffin and a 30 year-old woman were arrested in February, and the animals taken out of their custody.

The case against the woman, Crystal Benoist, was dismissed.
