GLADSTONE -- The waters around Gladstone are popular fishing spots, but one resident is hoping he can win the town some big money.
Bruce Jacobsen entered the town into a contest sponsored by the World Fishing Network.
Voters can vote for The Ultimate Fishing Town, USA on-line.
The first round of voting started Tuesday at noon.
The prize is a $25,000 community donation.
If the town wins, the funds will be used to improve the fishing pier in the Gladstone Park.
“Well, I think everybody could vote,” said Jacobsen. “Everyone in the community and the area can vote. Anyone that has the technology at home and an internet access, I think they could spend five minutes. It's four votes per person, per 24-hour period."
The first round of voting ends May third.
The winning town will be announced by June 6.
