They plan to sell 20,000 fudge eggs this year
ESCANABA -- The Easter season is upon us, and one U.P. business is gearing up for one of their busiest times of the year.
Sayklly's plans to sell 20,000 fudge eggs this year. The eggs have been a tradition for the business since the 1940s.
They say the secret to their success is the real butter and cream ingredients they use. They also personalize each egg.
Despite the weakened economy, they say they had a strong year last year and are optimistic about sales for this year.
"We're hoping we get through this next gas crunch, with our tourists coming up next summer," says Jim Kirby. "Last year wasn't too bad, and we're hoping this year we'll cruise through that again."
Another holiday tradition for the business...their larger than life chocolate Easter bunnies. They make about 10 of them each year.
