ESCANABA -- Saturday's open house at Escanaba's Bonifus Fine Arts Center was a circus, literally.
The center was transformed into a free circus or carnival, so the whole family could come, see and enjoy what it's all about.
The open house also honored the arts center's gallery exhibit, "A Balancing Act," which showcases the locally established Skerbeck Family Circus. The six generation circus still travels across the Midwest and has its headquarters in Escanaba.
The open house hoped to give families a taste of what it had to offer.
"All day we have had so many fun activities going on. People have been coming in, we've had games and prizes that kids have been winning, we've been serving popcorn, cotton candy all day and corn dogs," said Bonifus special events director, Beth Ann Mercier.
The open house was one day, but the Skerbeck Circus exhibit will be showcased at Bonifus until April 21.
