MARQUETTE -- Checking out new spring fashions is even more stylish when it helps a good cause.
The NMU Public Relations Students Society of America held a spring fashion show Saturday evening to benefit the Lake Superior Village Youth and Family Center.
The show was called "Project Compassion" and featured spring clothing lines from local designers and retailers like Lanni Lannto, Maurices, Younkers, and Kohls.
Student say the show was a fun way for the community to contribute to a good cause.
"We wanted to really do something fun, new," said NMU PRSSA member Teighlor Bodri. "You don't really see many fund-raising fashion shows around here, so we figured this would give an activity that the community would like to see. It's just something different."
Kohls "Also Goals" gave the Lake Superior Village Youth and Family Center a $500 check.
Tickets were five dollars a piece, but admission was free for students, Lake Superior Village families and children under five.
