MARQUETTE -- The 11th running of the annual YMCA Fun Run is fast approaching, and organizers recommend signing up now when you can still get the early bird registration price.

The event consists of five separate races, including a 1-mile youth run, a 5K, a 10K, a 10-mile partial trail run and a toddler trot.

If you sign up now through April 15, the cost is $20 for adults, $15 for teens and $10 for youth 12 and under.  The price goes up $5 after April 15.

All proceeds fund the YMCA's Strong Kids Scholarship Campaign.

"Basically, this turns no one away in our community so it provides scholarships to children, individuals, families and seniors that wouldn't be able to afford to come to the YMCA and have a membership program," said Race Director Jenna Zdunek.   "So there's a great need in our community.  Twenty-five percent of our members are on scholarship, and this race usually raises around $5,000 for the scholarship program."

There will be no race day registrations.  If you're interested in registering for the event, go the the YMCA registration website.
