LANSING (AP) -- An air sample analysis in Lansing has reportedly detected very low levels of radiation believed to be from a damaged nuclear power complex in Japan.

The state says the "very low concentrations" of radioactive iodine-131 pose "no health threat to residents."

Officials at the state Department of Community Health say the levels are thousands of times less than what would lead them to recommend any sort of protective action.

Minute amounts of radiation have spread as far as the U.S. East Coast.
