The residents of the Bishop Noa Home enjoy a monthly ice cream party

ESCANABA -- Seniors at the Bishop Noa Home for senior citizens cooled down Saturday afternoon with some tasty treats.

About 20 seniors enjoyed ice cream sundaes, and the nurses made each one special for the participants.

Neapolitan was the flavor of choice, with whipped cream, fudge, and, of course, sprinkes were included.

The social gave the participants a chance to catch up with one another in a main dining area.  And the nurses say they couldn't be happier to work with such a lovely group of seniors.

"They're great to be around; love hearing their stories from the past, and they just keep it interesting, it's fun," says nurse Ashley Bourdeau.

The nurses say everyday activities like this one are planned for the seniors, except for Sundays.
