DELTA COUNTY -- Delta County and Menominee County have issued a warning regarding dangerous toxic products marketed as "bath salts." One of the products identified is called "White Rush."
These products are being sold across the county as packets of white powder at head shops, according to the public health department. These products contain chemicals which cause increased heart rate, chest pains, dizziness, delusions, panic attacks, nose bleeds and nausea.
According to Dr. Greg Holtzman, Chief Medical Executive of the Michigan Department of Community Health, use of these stimulants affects neurotransmitters in the brain which can result in violent behavior and death.
Delta and Menominee County Public Health would like to remind all residents that these are not the commercially manufactured bath salts that people purchase to use in bathing.
